F-Stops and Aperture

I normally do not use this site as a go-to for my photography questions. Usually I turn to the professionals on the Canon forum or thephotoforum.com. Both very good sites!

However, today I literally stumbled upon picturecorrect.com. I found this VERY helpful article on f-stops, aperture, and light!

Turkish Photographers (EARLY).

Confinement

This is by an unknown Turkish Photographer. Unfortunately, I cannot trace it and therefore don't know what kind of camera he/she used, how edited this picture is, or even if it is real or not. However, I feel that this photo allows the viewer to interpret their own views, and admire several different qualities.

For example, I see it as a poor soul caught in its own home. It can see the outside world, yet the barriers are nearly invisible and if it abandons them, survival may not be a possibility.

I also deeply admire the neutral colors in the photo. No strong blues, yellows, or reds. Just very soft creams, whites, browns, blacks, and coppers. Truly beautiful.

River of Blue

I realize this picture can nowhere begin to compare to that of the Turkish Photographer. And I do not place limits on my photos and force the reader to look through my eyes; I want it to be from their own perspective.

So you tell me what you see!

Also, I really enjoy this picture mainly for placement and color. The subject is not in the center nor the far left or right of the picture, however he is symmetrical with the trees surrounding him. The contrast of blues also truly catches my eyes and just seems to strike me in some way.

Beginnings.

So I'm just beginning out in the wonderful world of photography with minimal experience under my belt. I thought this blog would be a wonderful way to get my feet wet and become more talented as the years go by. So, here is my plan that I will hopefully stick to as much as possible (I make no promises).

Monday Favorites- I will post one of my favorite pictures from some famous photographers and explain why they attract my attention so much, elaborating on the aspects I feel I could capture in my own photography. I will then post three pictures of my own, that I believe have the potential to follow in the footsteps of these photographers.
Tuesday Tips- I will post links with useful tips that will help you the reader out, as well as me!
Wednesday Prompts- I will be taking prompts from famous photographers, and attempt to produce a new photograph of my own on these days.
Thursday Prompts- I will be taking prompts from famous photographers, and attempt to produce a new photograph of my own on these days.
Friday Free Days- I want you guys to tell me what you would like to see in my photography!
